Knowing how to properly refill your ink cartridges is important. You can’t just use any type of ink for any type of cartridges as this will probably damage the printer. There are stores which help you refill your ink cartridges to make things easier and to ensure that it is done correctly.
There are also companies that sell ink refill kits. Two types of refill kits are available, the first type is used for any type, brand or model and the second one is only used on specific types of cartridges. This is because each printer cartridge works differently and is made a specific way. Each kit comes with instructions on how to inject the ink and how to inject it as well as the amount of ink that should be injected. The kits also come with an injection needle and syringe, a refill clip, ink suction syringe and gloves. There are therefore a number of suppliers and manufacturers of ink refill kits. The process is quick and simple if the instructions are followed correctly.
Steps To Refill Ink Cartridges
First remove the cartridge from the printer, place something on the surface you are working on to protect it from spills. Place the empty cartridge on the refill clip and you know that you have placed it correctly by hearing a click sound. Connect injection needle to the ink container then insert the needle right inside the ink injection inlet making sure that the needle is facing the nozzle.
Pull back the injection needle for about 5mm and then ink container’s piston. Ink will then be added slowly with any air bubbles. Then connect the rubber hole close to the nozzle with the suction syringe and suck out about 1ml of ink and remove syringe. Remove the refill clip and wipe excess ink from the nozzle. Keep the ink injection inlet opened and put the cartridge back into the printer. Be sure to do the cartridge cleaning process before using the printer.
Always try to refill the ink in the cartridge before the ink is completely empty so that the printer head and ink chamber do not become completely dry. Also try to use the printer regularly as this will help prevent the print head from drying and refrain from putting your hands inside the printer. Certain cartridges have features which show how much ink is left in the cartridge. For these types of cartridges the memory on the chip needs to be reset so that the printer does not think that the cartridge is empty when it has been refilled. Cartridges can only be refilled a couple of times before they get worn out so the must be replaced after a while. The ink cartridge must never be filled too much and it must never be put back inside a printer if the ink is leaking.
